Chili Pepper is a plant that produces a horn-shaped spicy fruit with a characteristic bright red colour.
It is mainly used as a spice, either fresh or dried. It contains capsaicin, a substance that helps the cardiovascular system and alleviates headaches.
You can grow it all year round with our smart garden but we recommend harvesting after 4 months from germination. It’s necessary to pollinate the flowers by hand. Please, pay attention when handling your chili pepper plant. We recommend washing your hands and avoiding touching your eyes because it can cause irritation.
Uses
You can use chili pepper in a variety of ways, including as a condiment for pasta, or for vegetables cooked in a pan. You can use it for preparing a sauce, a preserve and even a jam. Chili pepper is also used for preparing desserts with chocolate.
In the Latin American cuisine, it is used for preparing the well-known “Mexican chili” or the “mole poblano”.
