Chives are herbs with a characteristic onion flavor.
They are rich in vitamins and mineral salts, folic acid and antioxidants!
You can grow it all year round with our smart garden but we recommend the harvesting after 35-40 days from germination.
Uses
You can use chives as an alternative to garlic and onion, to make light sautéed vegetables (the typical Italian soffritto for a sauce: sautéed onion, celery and carrot).
You can use chives to add flavor to soups and purées, to combine with cheese and to make an excellent yogurt sauce for salad.
What’s more, you can use it as a decoration or to tie meat or cheese rolls. In fact their flexible stems are perfect for use as natural kitchen twines.
